Have you done much reading on older child adoption? My (very limited) understandiing is that it can be very challenging especially if there was abuse or parental drug use in the past. I know you're up to the challenge, but I was just curious about what kind of research you might have done. I've been feeling the itch to become a foster parent for some time but my husband has no interest. And when I bring home pamphlets titled "Fetal Alcohol Syndrome and You" it makes him even less interested.
