"By starting late, he means people in their 40s, 50s, and even 60s who haven't started their savings/retirement plans, or if they have, they have not started them with resonable success.

DH and I are a little bit ahead becuase he has always had a 401(k) as a job benefit. But I do not have a retirement account and we have virtually nothing in savings. So I feel like we're going to be playing catch up for a while.
