Yes, satisfying
I found it a very enjoyable read, and I was pretty excited as I read though many of the adventures Harry and crew have.
I've been reading reviews lately, and here are my non-specific thoughts:
True, Rowling is not a prose stylist by any stretch, but her characters and her sense of humor are great. Will her books stand up to Narnia and the Ring trilogy? Perhaps not -- those books seem to take place in a world outside of time, whereas I think the Potter books are really about the here and now. The Salon review I read said it well -- her books are not the stuff dreams are made of, they are the stuff life is made of, and that's what makes them great in their own way. I think they have a battle of good and evil, but they seem much more about the battle of just growing up and trying to suss out what's good and what's evil.
I think that's what in the end makes Harry Potter children's lit, even if it's children's lit that adults can read and love too.
