That's where I am right now.
That's where I am right now. I finally got the baby weaned a couple months ago (17 months old). He has been my most difficult child. From day one (like, still in the hospital) he refused to sleep alone, and still demands to sleep next to me every night. I finally took down the crib since he wouldn't use it. I was nursing him to sleep, but since weaning, the only way I can get him to sleep is by watching cartoons on PBS til he finally falls to sleep. Most of the time I zonk first and will wake up later to turn off the tv. DH mostly falls asleep on the sofa anyway. LOL! Not that he is mad at me, but after all day on the tractor or welding, when he is out he is OUT.
My 3rd baby (1st son) was that way too about going to sleep in my bed watching TV. I wasn't able to break him of that habit til the baby was a month or two old. He was 3, I put him in his bed, told him he was going to stay there. When I came back to bed, my husband said I was the meanest mommy in the world. And I am! LOL! Except for with the baby. He has been different and more "attached" than any of my other kids. Every one of them are different and have their own quirks.
I wish my DH would let me have some alone time with him. Not that the baby would let me anyway. But right now in our lives, it's more important that the kids have daddy time, I suppose. God willing, there will be time for us later in our lives. But when you work sunup to sundown away from the kids, you want all the time with the kids you can get, even if it means no bedtimes. That's his reasoning. When school starts back, I'll get evenings settled down again (at least Sunday-Wednesday night. Thursday isn't a school night because our tiny rural school is on 4 day weeks and we have Friday's off).
