I use a free motion/darning foot with the feed dogs dropped. It takes a bit of practice but it's fun.

Gotta be careful, though. I broke 3 needles and gave myself a nice gouge through the top of my thumb working on Spring Tonic. Note to self: check immunization records for last tetanus shot ...
