Get the demo
The demo really gives you a chance to see whether you will like it -- it's not just a digital tour. You get actual lessons in all the languages. Which, as Lynn says, is pretty fun in itself. My daughter loved just playing with the demo and trying different languages.
We are doing Chinese (in pinyin rather than ideograms, which I kind of regret, but oh well). It *is* expensive, but at least at our slow pace it also lasts a really long time -- I think we'll get at least 2 years out of it even if only one child uses it. I think it is a great program, and I especially love that it basically asks nothing of me!
My daughter can do her Chinese lessons totally on her own, which makes a great break for me to do something else.
Our library system has Rosetta Stone spanish on their computers, so you can go do it at the library for free! Worth looking into!
