Thanks for the New Thread!
It's cold here this morning. No snow, though. We aren't usually that lucky down here. Although they have been predicting either snow or ice before the end of this month (no ice, please!).
I was thinking over the weekend that this is the first January in 14 years that I haven't had to be worried over doing 1099's and putting in massive hours to get it all checked and re-checked and then printed. Woohoo! My new job definitely has drawbacks, but I'll trade the massive stress from the old job for this one anyday.
Took DD7 to basketball practice yesterday, then home to do homework and eat dinner. Then we went to my nephew's & niece's basketball games. Had fun, but DD wasn't ready for bed when we got home. Finally settled down, though.
Today's PODA:
* Make deposit of Christmas check at bank
* Work on next two chapters in Bible study
* Search for cute icebreaker activities for next 11 weeks
* Get a newspaper so I'll have grocery sales ads
* Work at office 8-3
* Awana tonight at 6:45
Co-worker told boss yesterday that she need to be off 1/29 and 1/30. Boss looked at me, to question whether I'd be there & I said I'd work my usual 8-3, but I couldn't stay until 5 either day. Don't know if she really comprehended that because she told co-worker "that should be OK". I guess she'll know on the 29th when I get my stuff and leave at 3! I was hired to work 8-3. Nothing was EVER said about working until 5 when my co-worker is off. I did it a few times at end of 2006 & set a bad precedent. (I am a pleaser & have a hard time saying "no"). But, my Mom has so much on her plate, I can't expect her to always pick up DD. I've taken her back to work with me and it was a nightmare, PLUS it's 20 miles roundtrip which is a lot of wasted gas for me. And, though school has an aftercare program (which boss is NOT aware of!), I'm not willing to pay for her to stay and then by the time I'm paid, I've made hardly anything to work 2 hours. So, I'm being a non-loyal employee I guess. Boss could stay 3-5 by herself, she just does not want to learn how to take payments. She has done it lately, though, so maybe she's decided that she can in fact do it. Heck, she owns the company, shouldn't she know how to do most everything, at least generally?
Well, better run for now. Gotta get coats on & get gone.
Have a great fly-day everyone!
