Lenora, I can't tell you how much I envy your chance to take charge - I have only packing and proof reading!

The move and the thesis submission are very close now. DH, DD and I went to our storage unit yesterday and threw away half a ton of stuff, some of which was rather sad, like the table that DH made as an undergraduate so that he could host dinner parties for 12, but is now looking rather shabby! Other stuff was rather cathartic, like our television, which we've decided to finally give the boot to. DH and DBIL take charge of a big van on Friday and drive the stuff from the unit up to our new flat (just by Edinburgh Castle and the Festival Hub, for those who know the place). I submit my thesis on Monday. DBestFriend and I then drive a smaller van up to Edinburgh on Saturday with all the stuff from DMIL's house (we hope it fits!). DMIL brings DD up on the train.

THEN I get to take charge! Can't wait to get settled into the new flat. It's been such a tough couple of months, a bit of straightforward unpacking and settling in is really appealing right now.

How's everyone else? Anyone else going to take charge this year?
