Andrea, if I'm careful, that
Andrea, if I'm careful, that beef will last a little more than a year. That was only half a beef. We split it with my inlaws. I will more than likely run out of groundbeef before the year is up, but the roasts and steaks I can drag out a while.
Heidi, how funny you got pork, too! These friends of ours raise the pigs for their kids to show for 4-H in the fair. Then they sell them to their friends, haul them off to be processed and deliver them to us. I paid $250 for the hog and $150 for processing. It came out to 246 pounds of pork.
And yay for the honor roll for your DS! Always makes a mom feel good when they do that! Both my girls made Blue Honor Roll (which is straight-A's). The school is having a special breakfast for parents and students next Monday for A and A-B honor roll kids all the way up thru high school. The teachers are doing the cooking, then there will be an assembly for certificates. This is new, I hope we can keep it going.
If DH gets a deer, I don't know where I'm going to put it!
I think I'm going to ditch church today. After two days straight of unexpected town trips (Friday for DD9's soccer team's party, yesterday's freezer emergency), I'm letting myself stay home. I need to feed the cattle today. Will be a tight squeeze with all four kids and myself in a single cab pickup. LOL! I should have done it yesterday, but they have plenty of hay and grass, they certainly aren't going to starve.
HAve a great day!
