Chex Mix
...is Chex breakfast cereal mixed with stuff like roasted nuts and pretzels. Usually it's all coated with some kind of salty buttery savory mixture and then baked on cookie sheets until crispy and cooled. You can then mix other things like my favorite, M&Ms, into it. It's sinfully delicious, a perennial downfall of mine. Crunchy, salty, sweet (if you put dried fruit or M&Ms in--better, both!), it's contagious. An old friend of mine from radio days made a version she called Francine Mix (after herself, natch) that had a hot, garlicky kick to it. It was a secret recipe, she wouldn't divulge how she made it, but it was killer.
