No Holiday for Many
I can't believe how many stores were open on the 4th! I know that farmers and ranchers don't get to take many summer breaks, but does the Nike Outlet have to be open? Good grief, let people spend some time with their families!
We had a great 4th -- ended up riding in a parade on the back of our neighbor's antique fire truck. (Very fun neighborhood parade, in its 59th year.) The we went to a beautiful city park by the Mississippi River for some walking in the woods, rock collecting by the beach, and picnicking in the grass. I think everyone had a great time. (DD7 is standing next to me confirming that it was a beautiful park.) We really lucked out - high around 80 degrees, so very pleasant weather.
We are schooling today, I have some freelancing to do, and *lots* of cleaning for the weekend -- our first dinner party with our new table. (DD7 says "Whoo Hoo! Dinner party! Dinner party!) 6 adults, 6 kids.
Hope everyone has a great day!
