So today the kids and I went to a Mother's Day shindig at my future Brother-In-Laws (BIL).
Burgers and hotdogs and potato salad. That kinda thing. It was very very nice. My family is very supportive, and the kids got to play with their cousins and (future cousin).
I called the CICU and Lynn's nurse says that they are going to get her out to see the girls. See if they could get the girls to see their mother in no-so-scary a circumstance.
So we called from the hallway, and then we waited. The girls grew restless. We waited a little longer. We went into the family waiting room, and then Lynn showed up. In a wheelchair. Looking like a rather normal person. Screw that. She looked Radiant. Positively radiant. I almost fell over. the girls were ecstatic to see her. She sat with us out in the waiting area for a good 15 mins, then it was time to go back. She was tired.
It was a pure pleasure to see my wife looking *normal* again, even hooked up to various devices.
The girls were very pleased to see her. They are starting to understand the need that Lynn has to see THEM, and that makes them feel very special, even in these trying circumstances.
Lynn is still having cardiac events. Not heart attacks, but regular ol' angina. she is holding the line at around 2 a day now, but they seem to be lessening in severity. She is still being given a nice cocktail of atavan and morphine when they occur, but the is in the right place for these to happen.
Tomorrow we have Tea and we give her her mother's day gifts. She can't read this, so let me clue you in. Our good friend Ivy found a Mother's day book that is perfect for lynn. Accompanying that will be a single See's raspberry truffle and tea with the family. I will have her Tiffany's necklace with us at the time. I am hoping we can wedge in between angina episodes, but we will have to just take that as it comes. It will be a good day (all things considered). Today was.
