Sandstorms
The sandstorms are much worse this year because of the fire. It burned so much land and there is no vegetation to hold the dirt down. The fire burned 35,000 acres and all that dirt is just blowing now. The wind yesterday was 55MPH. When I'm up in the town north of us, or Clovis, the wind is horrible, but there is no duststorm. It's only in the parts that were burned. And since the fire burned all around my house (miles and miles west, 2 miles north, 2 miles south, and miles and miles east), its really bad here. I think it's something you kinda have to see to believe.
As for the dirt thru the windows. The windows on this house are almost brand new, doublepaned windows. They seal shut and are difficult to open. But that sand still manages to come thru them.
It's supposed to be another windy day. I'm going to town to pick up my taxes, Walmart for a perscription (BC pills, DH hasn't gone for his snipping yet! LOL! Though I've got him to "if we win the lottery, we can have another baby". LOL!). and then when I get home, laundry and more cleaning (though really, what's the point).
