Mmmmm...Chocolate Mousse!
That does sound good, but I like to make maple mousse even better.
Kerri, I like the idea of a rewiew. That makes a lot of sense to me, as I am also working on having less of an "all-or-nothing" mentality.
With all the doctor's appointments etc. last week, I didn't get to the treadmill on two days. One of those days was yesterday, and to top it off, we went to my SIL's for a Super Bowl Party and all the food available was high calorie junk. Those two events combined would have put me off the "shape-up" effort entirely in the past. I would have thought, "Well, that's it then....I lost it....This will never work....I may as well just give up....Typical loser behavior....." and so on.
This morning when I got up I put on the workout clothes and got on that darned treadmill anyway. Now that's what I call progress! I reminded myself that it will take awhile to get back in shape, and it doesn't have to be all-or-nothing. It is a process that will have to keep evolving.
Then I went to the marathon website, the one in May I've been training for. I checked the two-person relay team lottery results. My name wasn't there!!!
This is OK. I can find another goal to work on. I called the marathon office and got my name on the waiting list so if someone drops out I have a chance to buy their spot. I also reminded myself that there are two great fundraising local 10K races I could do in April and June instead, and that could be my goal.
So, I'll re-adjust, cope, evolve, ride the wave, change the plan, whatever.
And slow down, review, keep at it.
