Lots of options, unless you live in the boondocks
Is there a comfy coffee house near you that you can hang out with a book group? One of the first things I did for my social life after having DD was to join a book group that met at a local coffee house. It was great.
If you don't already know, would you be willing to learn to knit or crochet and join a knitting circle? Great gab sessions, you learn more about the craft in one day than you would on your own in a month, and you're out of the house. Or, you could have it at your place, since it's so clean!
Also, cooking or arts & crafs classes are a great way to get out of the house and network. My mother took a stained glass class and made some gorgeous window sun catchers and a large stained glass window that I still drool over.
Or, you could take up a hobby that will take you out of the house, like photography. Or use a skill that you have to assist a charity. Again, using my mother as an example, she can sew (boy can she) so she joined up with a the local S.N.A.P. charity, sewing up bandanas for kitties and doggies and selling them at PetsMart and at area art fairs. She's raised thousands of dollars for a very noble cause and has made some amazing friends.
A little brainstorming, doing local searches in the phone book, community center, library, or on the internet should find you several options that interest you.
Welcome! We can be your invisible friends and help you at home, too!
