I always envied my officemate--she was so organized and her desk was so clean. Mine, on the other hand, was a disaster, with files from last year sitting in piles. I'm not in the office anymore, but my desk is still a mess. Right now there are 7 sorted piles in front of me and 2 unsorted (and I'm not going to count the ones in the surrounding area). I'm working on cleaning it up, but I still don't have a good system for new stuff coming in. I'm rapidly coming to the conclusion that I can clean all I want, but until I know what I'm going to do with new things I'll still have piles.
