Web site
I have no family that live nearby (unlike my DH, who is from here, as his father is, too, and has TONS of family. We can hardly go anywhere without running into a cousin of some sort). I'm in New Mexico, and all my family are in Georgia (and throughout the South) and Ohio. So I have my own family website. It's inexpensive (about $12/month) and more space than I'll probably ever use. I try to update it once a month with pictures and a page of news of the family. The news page includes what each kid is doing and has learned, activities, trips, and also a little about what my hubby and I are doing. I have a page for the baby (which needs to be updated as I speak). Also each person has their own section. Well, the kids need to be updated and so does hubby's. DH's includes his hobbies and work (the farm and ranch, since most of my city slicker family has no idea what all we do). My part of the site includes recipes and sewing and scrapbooking stuff I've done.
I also send pictures via email. More to my mom than anyone because she has DSL. I don't get around to having pics printed often (the home printer really doesn't do as good as a photo place. Sam's you can get them done for like .18/photo, Walmart's is .24, but I still don't do it that often). And I scan all school pics and send off to them, too. I still will send a real copy of it, when I get around to it. LOL!
