I'm no nutritionist, but

Most of the nutrition bars have soy flour, roasted soynuts, soy protien pellets (whatever they are) and other processed soy that isn't so good for you. LUNAbars and Clif bars both contain soy-based protein.

The Zone Perfect nutrition bars have high-fructose corn syrup in them, which is bad, bad, bad for you.

The best energy bar is probably one that you make yourself. There are recipes here, here (don't use sugar-free lemon flavored jell-o, no good), and here for making your own energy/nutrition bars.

Reading the labels of everything you eat and everything you cook with can be a real pain. I know firsthand. But it makes a huge difference in the health of you and your family to avoid the over-processed food additives that make us sick. More and more articles appear each week on how our processed foods industry is compromising our health.

I hate to say it, but if you want something fast and easy to eat, you pretty much have to make it yourself from scratch before hand and take it with you. Store-bought convienence food is killing us.

If you come across a recipe that calls for corn syrup, you can substitue brown rice syrup for it. There's an article at Mother Earth News on 7 healthy alternatives to white sugar and high-fructose corn syrup.
