DD8 threw up on the carpet the week before summer break (mid May). I didn't sniff the carpet until August... There is absolutely no smell now so don't give up hope yet! (Our carpet was treated with some Stainmaster stuff, though, and that might have helped keep a lot of the stink out. When the carpet was new, it completely repelled liquids. They just puddled up on top.)
