THE knitting pattern book!

Submitted by Lynn on Tue, 12/23/2003 - 4:15pm.

Every knitter, however accomplished, however beginning, should have this book. It contains basic patterns for socks, mittens, gloves, hats, tams, vests and sweaters in multiple gauges to work with just about any weight of yarn, and in sizes from child through big adult (aka, me). And if the pattern is still in the wrong size or gauge, there's clear instructions on how to make the pattern work for you.

There are about 350 ways to knit something in this book, not counting all the numberless variations you can add by changing stitch patterns, adding color work and so on. This book goes with me wherever my knitting does, because I'm usually using one of its patterns as at least a jumping off or reference point. HIGHLY recommended. It was one of the best Christmas presents I got in 2002.
