congrats to Danika!
My Sophie weaned at 28 mos., mainly the effect of lots of summer traveling preventing much nursing, but at nearly 5 she still likes to pat 'em every now and then. (When she really tries to cop a feel I tell her they belong to me and they're private, so no touch-ee!) If I had made a special effort to keep it going that summer, she'd probably still be nursing today! She absolutely never said "no thanks" to num-nums.
Little Iris, now 9 mos., I worry about making it to 12 mos.! She is just not as enthusiastic as Sophie, and I can't imagine we'll ever get to 2 years. She's also more of a biter -- never a big problem with Sophie -- tho luckily she's never drawn blood!
Anyway, enjoy the freedom to leave town! I did the same thing right after Sophie weaned -- took off up north for a women's yoga weekend. Stayed in a B&B all by myself -- even ditched the group and went to restaurants by myself. "By myself" -- what a wonderful concept!!
