amox
my DD2 at the time had to have amox.. and she got the same reaction. We have pictures of her with hives the size of tennis balls. I too had to do the benadryl, and cool baths. She was not otherwise affected too much so that helped.
my Dr. says that a child can "outgrow" the allergy. I am not sure of this as only once or twice since then have we had to put her on anything [shes 13 now] and we used a different antibiotic. Thank goodness there are ones to choose from.
just a suggestion,,,,,,I bought her one of those braclets to wear that say she is allergic. I thought in case I am not there in an emergency she would not receive any 'bad stuff'. You can get them at a drug store or hospital supply store.
also be prepared to have to write it down a zillion times for school medical forms,,even field trips
glad all is well now
