DH on Low Carbs

Submitted by JoannaC on Thu, 10/23/2003 - 2:24am.

My DH has been on and off Atkins for a few years. It has helped him to lose weight, but he finds it too restrictive, and has always fallen off the wagon after induction. Now we're going to try a modified approach, where I will just cut out the obvious carbs from the lunch and dinner (pasta, rice and potatoes), and see how that works. His job is to stop devouring chocolate chips and other baking supplies from the pantry :> He would like to lose about 50 pounds.

DH is a medical researcher, and has read every study with interest (and his ever present skepticism). Although he thinks some of Atkins' reasoning is faulty/false, he does think that the program itself works. There are A LOT of physicians and scientists we know who not only do Atkins, but have lost significant amounts of weight on it.
