RIP Tommy

One of our three bus drivers passed away the other evening. He has been battling cancer for a few months and lost the fight.

My chicken days are over

We tried to raise some chickens this year. DD8 (then 7) brought one home from school after her class hatched them.

Andrew's Birth Story

I'm not going to put it all down here, but it is on my blog:

And all I'm gonna say is that the epidural is the most WONDERFUL thing in the world! The entire labor and delivery was absolutly painFREE, and that's pretty hard to do pushing out a 9+pound baby!! LOL!

Boohpah

This has got to be the stupidest show I've ever seen. At least the dreaded Barney teaches something. But this big blob things just spin around and make farting noises.

But DS2 is absolutely fascinated by them!

Big News!

jennye's picture

I told the Flybabies, but didn't think about announcing it anywhere else. Then the create content wasn't working, etc...

Anyway...

Baby #4 is on it's way and will be here in November. We are very excited, I'm feeling fine. Except, much to my dismay, this baby doesn't want me to go to Chili's, which is one of my most favorite places to eat! Hopefully baby will change it's mind about that place soon.

Just a test

Just wanted to see if it worked now that the graphics are back to the old.

And who said selling hay wasn't exciting?

jennye's picture

I got an email last night from an ad I had placed to sell some of our hay. It seemed a little strange because it was from a man in Holland. Ok, no big deal, he was probably the owner of one of the tons of dairies here, there are a few of those from Holland. I replied back with the info he wanted (how much hay we had, condition of it, price and approximate location).

Thank goodness for Preordering

jennye's picture

I've been notified that my order from Amazon has shipped. It's the Dukes of Hazzard, Season 2. I'm am SO SICK of the first 13 episodes from Season one. I have them all memorized!! And that is just from listening in the background. But Chance loves the show dearly. And if you knew him, you do all you can to make him happy long enough to tackle some of the mess he has left behind.

Loss in the family

jennye's picture

We lost a member of our family today. Taps was played. Yes, it was a close member, been in our family for 8 years now.

We lost our pickup, affectionatly called "The Whore". She was a fun pickup to drive. A 1979 Ford F-250 4x4. May she rest in peace.

Grandmother having surgery

My grandmother is having her remaining breast removed tomorrow morning. She is the only grandparent I have left and love her dearly. She beat breast cancer 7 years ago, but lost one breast. She found a lump a few weeks ago, and it's not good.

Falling apart

jennye's picture

My home is suffering badly. It needs a good cleaning. It needs me to actually keep up with Flylady. It needs me not to be on the computer so much. Laughing out loud It needs me home.

No, social services aren't knocking on the door. It's sanitary, just too cluttered. Too many toys that don't get put away, too many socks on the living room floor (and none of them are mine, seeing how I always have shoes on until a crawl into bed.

Lot's of thinking going on...

jennye's picture

Howdy! It's your local cowgirl, just poking her head in.

I've been doing lots of thinking in the past month or so. And came to some shocking relevations.

I have said for years that I was planning on getting my teaching degree and returning to work as soon as all kids started school, with some stipulations. The biggest one being that I be at their school. Well, things have changed.

Just dropping in to say hi!

Howdy!
I talked to Honey yesterday, she said I should tell ya'll hello, so here I am!
We have had a busy summer. Camping, reunions, the farm and such. A couple weeks ago, we drove out to Georgia, which was no small feat. 1,300 miles one way. We made good time, got halfway the first day (Shreveport, LA), and there the next. the only thing that saved us was getting the kids a DVD player for the back seat. $300 for a dual screened one. No one fought over who couldn't see it. Every other DVD had to be the Wiggles for Chance. Vonnie, I thought of you as we passed thru your state (and close to your town, as well!). Susannah, too bad you aren't much closer to Atlanta.

Good-bye

jennye's picture

I've been taking a computer break this week. Well, mainly a TNH break, because I have found I spend most of my online time here.

I'm also discovering that some people here have such a difference in opinion from the way I feel about things other than cleaning house (like politics, parenting, religion, among other things), that reading some threads is just making me mad, and that's not good. So I don't know if or when I will be back. I've met wonderful people here that I will still "talk" to, but I've realized how much this week that the computer really affects my family.

Front Page!

jennye's picture

My daughter made the front page of our local newspaper! I couldn't be prouder, of course, of my photogenic middle child. In the actual paper version, the picture is HUGE! Takes up nearly a 1/4 of the page! Guess the editor knows a good picture when he sees one, maybe it will sell more papers! LOL!
