As most of you know, I have adopted 4 children through the state foster care system. I have become quite the spokesperson here in my hometown for foster/adoption. I volunteer for our social worker at her foster trainings. I want to get the word out regarding the thousands of waiting children here in the United States.

I've come to blog. I've come to vent. I am going to try to debate myself. I always lose at this.

We have our children in public for the reason that we believe (our belief) very much, that we will NOT put them in a plastic bubble til they are 18, then release them into the big bad world. I fight myself daily, wanting to put them in that bubble.

The President of the United States came to Alamogordo, New Mexico yesterday. This is a very "conservative" town. There were only 10,000 tickets given out. You had to get there and go thru security 2 hours prior to Mr. Bush's arrival. That was a too much for Mom to stand. My husband and I decided not to go.

I turned 40, last November.
"Time for a check up." from my Mom.
"Are you gonna get a check up babe?" asked my husband.
And every radio commercial, tv ad, and magazine article asked the same question.
