An Idea for a Novel

I can't write fiction to save my life. I've tried. I can write little fairy tale-like stories, but nothing more. So I pass this idea on to you, the reader, with the caveat that it came to me in that place between dreaming and waking. In fact I was waking up from a dream of being a settler. And this came to me:

Elvis and Clark
The story of two brothers--one is an Elvis impersonator, the other is a historical re-enactor. Start writing.

(Keep in mind that this came so clearly to me that I am having trouble trusting that I didn't already read it somewhere. So if I'm plagiarizing, please believe it isn't intentional. Why on earth would anyone steal anything that silly?)

Is it Brother Against Brother?

Elvis was from Memphis. When the re-enactor does the Civil War, is he Union or Confederate?

When the Elvis brother is in Vegas, does the re-enactor play Sinatra, Martin, Lewis, or Davis?

What about the beach? Can the re-enactor pull off a good Ann-Margret?

There's my knee-jerk brainstorming.

Otherwise there would be no conflict!
